about
myself
sneek, she/her, nov '96, living in estonia; just some fellow trying to shift her internet existence a bit slower really. i exist in some other places online too, usually as either sneakypancake (tumblr) or sneekiblin (lastfm, insta, etc) - but also feel free to check my neocities profile if you're also on neocities...
enjoyer of:
- music - just as a listener! and might still need breaks at times to recalibrate myself
- diy shit - mostly handicrafts, and have done crochet the most these days, but hell, anything i could muster the energy to do myself with no major repercussions, boy howdy i will (self-haircuts, less intricate repairs of my phone, whatnot) - i guess this is also part of what informs this silly site
- being outside if the weather isnt actively offensive
- plenty else!
the site (inspo + colophon + whatever)
had been meaning to do a neocities site for some time, but was inspired in mid-november 2022 after a friend also made one... i guess this is just a little experimental creative thing, just throwing stuff at the canvas, seeing what sticks.
i'd learned some html and css in high school, but never had an html-from-scratch site of my own until this (though see the extra lore about kiddo me online existence below)
have preferred to keep things simple round here design-wise... maybe as not to overwhelm myself too much hahaha; also try to keep things relatively accessible in some sense tho at the end of the day all this is just me fucking around
i generate the site thru eleventy (static site generator), shifted to it w the help of whiona's guide, with a bit of extra wrangling on my end... and the bandcamp tables get generated from csv files with the help of a lil python script i cooked up. the html is spaced terribly as a result of 11ty i guess, hope some of you lot don't mind that!
the current typeface ive set up is comic mono just because i can, just because mobile devices dont have comic sans ms, and just because... why not!!! and the only on-site js used is the style picker, as per kale's style switcher.
as for the styles...
main (light) style simply got some naturey thing going on... not much to say of that one i think! i think initially set the background colour as that on my thoughts.page, and i sorta just carried that over when i made this.
smile (dark) style grew out of the lil bespoke style colorchoices i made for the lil page dedicated to cartoon smile by oli xl :,) and i'd accidentally made the background fairylights blink close to the song's bpm even, so i just fully synced those up too. and theres currently special regular and pointer cursors:
ouch style is just.. terrible. inspired by custom userstyle shenanigans i've done as a gimmick and to occasionally terrorize ppl by sharing screenshots of such (spoilered)
ouch style inspo examples. trust me it's awful, eyestrain warning

some specific stuff i use or have around
i won't go into everything i use cos some of the stuff feels simply average to me. but i have some more specific and/or special things around... will flesh this section out more sometime, but i'll put a list here for starters
- 7-year-old samsung galaxy s7 (got in late march 2017) i've changed the battery twice on (in nov 2020 and march 2024)
- though also do have a back-up phone since last summer, a refurbished galaxy s10
- old apacer au231 mp3 player that runs off a single AA battery
- a specific glass mug at home for all my hot drinks needs, it initially came as packaging for some offbrand hazelnut cocoa spread, have used it since sometime 2018
- also have a go-to bowl for cereal and adjacent, which i've used for such since high school at the least
- (maybe tmi sorry haha) menstrual cup and reusable pads... tho i also have single-use ones around still ofc
- suntimes android app - i have widgets on my phone homescreen for sunrise/sunset, moonrise/moonset/phase, and solar time (based off app location aka mostly home)
- seal android app (graphical user interface for yt-dlp basically)
- wind chimes firefox add-on (also on chrome) by mark beasley - i barely actually have it on but it's cute to have around, in a sense
extra lore about my early internet existence
as a kid i used to frequent this estonian site, mängukoobas, play cave it translates to. it was focused on flash games but it also had a lot of creative and social things going on in it. and each user had their own little "crib" they could customize to some extents, though the general layouts were premediated, but you could put your own little header, menu buttons, whatnot... (within the site's rules of course haha). and each user also had like a little virtual mannequin thing they could buy clothes and other things for for points or sms-es, and there was a lot of usermade stuff too, added into the section by some mods of that area. and a separate site section for showing ur own art stuff. and a chatroom i frequented lots, forums as well. and so on. was quite cool, it was nice to grow up on that site
and it was quite bustling during its peak, in like mid-to-late 00s early 10s, but sadly started fizzling out sometime further on... and was finally closed permanently on march 1st 2021. sort of a mängukoobas-shaped hole in my heart and i wander the internet a bit more aimlessly since, though i've been coping alright with its absence and to be fair i wouldn't be its target audience anymore anyway, though the relative absence of such sites for the kids of nowadays is still quite sad. it's funny though, i got my first proper job nearly a couple months after the site's closure... end of a childhood truly
